“Power of Partnerships”

Deadline: April 15, 2026

The theme of the 2026 conference is “Power of Partnerships.” We are seeking education sessions that help parks and recreation professionals, volunteers, staff, and leaders across Vermont do their work more effectively. Attendees include those who steward the state’s parks, trails, and recreation assets, from executive directors and decision-makers to hands-on volunteers.

  • VRPA and VTGC are excited to partner with American Trails to offer free learning credits for attendees (included in the registration fee). American Trails is a certified provider and can offer the following credits: AICP CM, LA CES (most HSW approved), NRPA CEU, and CEU/PDH for other accepting organizations.

Topics of interest include:

  • Program development

  • Communications, membership, fundraising, and volunteer recruitment

  • Asset management (trail building, park operations, community facilities, etc.)

  • Stakeholder engagement and cross-organization collaboration

  • Climate adaptation and emergency response

  • Workforce development and personnel challenges

  • Strategic planning and long-term visioning

  • Advancing equity and inclusion

  • Organizational leadership and staff support

  • Board and organizational development 

If you’ve developed an innovative program, new approach, or effective way to engage communities, support staff,  or raise funds, we encourage you to share it!
